Frequently asked questions
Can I buy taxidermy online and have it shipped within Europe?
Yes. NaturKabinett delivers directly to all EU countries, including Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Parcels usually arrive 2–5 working days after dispatch; large pieces travel by freight carrier on an agreed date.
Is it legal to buy taxidermy in the EU?
Yes, as long as the paperwork matches the species. Most species need no CITES papers at all. Species in Annex A of the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations need an EU certificate (Article 10) for the individual specimen, Annex B species need proof of legal acquisition. Every product page states the status and the documents you receive.
What does "ready-made taxidermy" mean?
Ready-made taxidermy is a finished mount that is in stock and ships now, as opposed to a commission from your own animal that can take months. Every piece in our collection is a one-off with an inventory number, and you receive exactly the specimen shown in the photos.
Is your taxidermy ethically sourced?
We only offer specimens whose origin we can document, such as zoos and wildlife parks (natural death), breeders and farms, legal hunting and wildlife management, or antique collections. Where the origin of a specimen is documented, it is stated on its product page.
Can you ship taxidermy to Switzerland, the UK or the USA?
On request. Outside the EU, listed species need a CITES (re-)export permit and often an import permit of the destination country; processing usually takes several weeks. Write to us before you buy and we will check the specimen for you.
Can I return a mount?
Consumers in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal from delivery. The original documents belong to the specimen and must be returned with it.
Do you speak English?
Yes. The shop is in German, but we are happy to advise you in English by email at info@naturkabinett.de – please quote the inventory number of the piece you are interested in.
